Day Denies Drink-driving
British actor and singer DARREN DAY has pleaded not guilty to drink-driving, claiming the police report of his arrest is inaccurate.
The 39-year-old was stopped by police in Cardiff, Wales, in the early hours of 18 June (08).
Cops claim they spotted him travelling at speed and running a red light.
The report claims Day was unable to provide a breath test at the roadside, but registered almost twice the legal amount of alcohol in his blood when he was tested at a local police station.
But Jenny Kumeta, defending the star, told Cardiff Magistrates Court on Wednesday (2Jul08) that Day disagrees with the manner he is claimed to have driven and alleges he was only in the vehicle for 20 seconds.
She also suggested her client was unhappy with the breathalyser test.
The case has been adjourned until 27 August (08).
