Pop singer KYLIE MINOGUE was honored by the PRINCE OF WALES at a ceremony at Buckingham Palace on Thursday (03Jul08).

The Australian star has been made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for her services to music and the entertainment industry.

Minogue said she was "deeply honoured" to be awarded the status by British monarch Queen Elizabeth II when the New Year Honours List was announced last year (07).

She says, "I am almost as surprised as I am honoured. I feel deeply touched to be acknowledged by the U.K., my adopted home, in this way."

In May (08), the pop star received France's highest cultural honour, the Order of Arts and Letters for "contribution to the enrichment of French culture".
