Brinkley 'Praying' For Divorce Settlement

LATEST: CHRISTIE BRINKLEY is "praying for" a settlement with estranged husband PETER COOK.

Brinkley held court with journalists outside a Long Island, New York courthouse on Wednesday afternoon (09Jul08), telling them she's keen put the case to rest.

The impromptu press conference came during the fifth day of her bitter divorce battle with her cheating husband.

The 54 year old insisted a settlement in the case is "what I hope and pray for".

Throughout the proceedings, Cook has been vilified for his affair with teenager Diana Bianchi, which ended his marriage, and over a costly Internet porn habit, revealed by Brinkley and her legal team.

Brinkley has since been recommended for sole custody of the pair's two sons Jack, 13, and Sailor, 10 by a court-appointed psychiatrist.

Lawyers for Brinkley and Cook declined to comment about Brinkley's remarks.
