Sarah Larson Denies George Clooney Engagement Rumours

GEORGE CLOONEY's ex-girlfriend SARAH LARSON has confirmed she was never engaged to the Hollywood actor.

The Ocean's Eleven star was forced to issue a denial in March (08) after rumours began to circulate that he had proposed to the former cocktail waitress at his villa in Italy.

The couple split two months later (May08), and now Larson has confirmed that although their relationship was serious, Clooney never asked her to marry him.

She says, "We were never engaged. Somebody made that up. I actually read it in a newspaper and I was like, 'I am engaged? Really? To whom?'"

The 29-year-old has also denied rumours Clooney dumped her because he feared her past would damage his career.

Larson previously worked as a cocktail waitress in Las Vegas, and photographs of her racy antics in Sin City soon turned up in the press.

But she insists those photos did not contribute to the break down of their romance.

She adds, "I wasn't shocked when those pictures taken of me in Vegas surfaced. I knew once I started dating George they'd come out. So I showed them all to him before they were published as they were posted on various websites. Most of them are of me working. I think it's funny that they are made out to be scandalous."
