Amy Winehouse Set For Howerd Rehab House?

Amy Winehouse's mother JANIS wants her to go to rehab - in late comic Frankie Howerd's house.

The owner is selling the Somerset, England property - and is considering turning it in to a country retreat where stars can overcome their drug and alcohol problems.

And Janis Winehouse has reportedly expressed an interest in enrolling her daughter there.

Chris Byrne, a friend of Howerd's who now lives in the property, tells British newspaper The Sun, "Janis and I were put in touch by a mutual friend and she said she wanted to come and bring Amy as it might help her. She seems to think there may be something in the atmosphere of the place that is healing.

"I told her that if it doesn't sell, I would turn it into a drug and rehabilitation place."

The Back to Black hitmaker has endured a long battle with her addictions, including a stint in rehab earlier this year (08) and has since suffered a string of health problems including a bout of infectious skin condition impetigo and traces of deadly lung disease emphysema.
