The mother of AMY WINEHOUSE's jailed husband BLAKE FIELDER-CIVIL has urged the judge overseeing her son's sentencing to keep him away from his troubled wife.

Fielder-Civil will be sentenced on Monday (21Jul08) after pleading guilty to perverting the course of justice and causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) in relation to an attack on a pub landlord in June 2006. He has been held on remand at London's Pentonville Prison since November (07).

And his mother Georgette has now written to the officials overseeing the case - insisting her son be banned from seeing Winehouse until she overcomes her drug addiction.

She says, "Amy thinks Blake will be freed on Monday but it's not good news. I'm absolutely dreading it because I don't want him to go straight back to Amy.

"If he does it could be a death sentence for the two of them. Blake has every intention to stop the drugs. But Amy is completely unstable. Blake is a recovering addict and not strong enough to resist the temptation.

"If they are reunited they will be back on drugs within days."

Georgette also fears she will lose her son for good if he goes back to his wife.

She adds, "If Blake and Amy lock themselves in a hotel room there is a real danger they will take a drugs overdose. Giving him and Amy another chance is like putting a gun to Blake's head. I will have lost him to drugs.

"I want Blake free but I want him in an environment that is safe - without Amy. We want the judge to send Blake home to be with his parents. I know if he goes home to me, instead of her, Amy will go berserk but what she needs is tough love."
