Hutchence's Mother Fears For Tiger Lily
The mother of late rocker MICHAEL HUTCHENCE is concerned over the welfare of her granddaughter TIGER LILY following her half-sister PEACHES GELDOF's reported drugs overdose.
The 12-year-old orphan was taken in by Sir Bob Geldof after the death of her mother - and Geldof's ex-wife - Paula Yates in 2000. Her natural father, INXS star Hutchence, was found hanged in a hotel room three years earlier (97).
Hutchence's mother Patricia Glassop has long criticised Geldof for allegedly keeping Tiger Lily away from her paternal grandparents.
Now she has spoken of her fears for the child's safety after her 19-year-old half-sister was reported to have suffered a suspected drugs overdose.
Peaches is said to have required emergency resuscitation from a friend after she was found unconscious at her North London flat on Sunday (20Jul08) - two days before Tiger Lily's 12th birthday.
And Glassop insists she doesn't want her granddaughter to adopt Peaches' wild lifestyle.
She says, "I said to my husband, 'Now we have to be really concerned', but what can we do?
"Bob won't let us have any contact with Tiger at all. I just have to hope she doesn't become like Peaches, because she is just a fright. But this news of Peaches overdosing is very sad and I feel so sorry for her, because when it comes to drug dependency she is obviously like her mother.
"The situation is sadly out of our hands, but I just hope Tiger is in a happy place and that she knows her grandparents love her very much."
