Gilliam Pleased With Ledger Replacements

By WENN, August 1 2008

Director TERRY GILLIAM is pleased with his controversial decision to use three actors to finish HEATH LEDGER's final film - as the move has worked perfectly.

Ledger was in the middle of filming The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus when he was found dead at his New York apartment in January (08).

Shooting was suspended following the tragic news, but Gilliam decided to complete Ledger's role and finish the movie by using three actors to shoot his final scenes - with Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell all stepping up to take on the part.

Gilliam says, "I've seen it and it works and it's great. It's the last chance to see Heath and he's brilliant. It (filming) stopped for a bit until the three heroes, as they're now known - Jude Law, Johnny Depp and Colin Farrell - came to the rescue and finished off Heath's part.

"So you ended up with four actors playing one character."
