Palace Denies Prince Cancer Claims
British royal PRINCE PHILIP, THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH has denied he is suffering from cancer - following media speculation about his health.
The 87-year-old husband of Queen Elizabeth II was rumoured to have been diagnosed with prostate cancer following a stay in hospital earlier this year (Apr08).
But a spokeswoman for the monarch's official residence Buckingham Palace has dismissed the reports.
The statement reads, "Buckingham Palace has always maintained that members of the Royal Family have a right to privacy. For this reason we have always refused to confirm or deny the persistent rumours that circulate about their health.
"But on this occasion the Duke Of Edinburgh has authorised us to confirm that the claim that he has received a 'diagnosis of prostate cancer' is untrue."
