Mayer Confirms Aniston Split

John Mayer has confirmed his split from actress Jennifer Aniston, insisting the break-up was amicable.

The pair became romantically linked in April, but Mayer decided to call off their relationship this week, reports People.com.

Now the singer has spoken out to deny tabloid speculation he parted ways with Aniston because he couldn't commit to one woman.

Recently speaking to reporters outside Equinox Gym in New York, Mayer said: "There's no lying, there's no cheating, there's no nothing...

"People are different, people have different chemistry. I ended a relationship to be alone, because I don't want to waste somebody's time if something's not right."

Mayer proved he had nothing but praise for his ex, adding: "Jennifer Aniston is the smartest, most sophisticated person I think I have ever met."
