Jackman Pleased Crowe Snubbed Movie Role

HUGH JACKMAN concedes he was second choice for the role in epic movie AUSTRALIA - after RUSSELL CROWE turned down the part.

Jackman claims the producers were keen to land Crowe for the part of Nicole Kidman's lover, but the actor snubbed the film over pay.

But Jackman doesn't mind being second choice.

He says, "I don't mind if I'm off the bench second or third reserve. I just didn't want to miss out on being a part of the film."
