Fatboy Slim Hails Jay-Z's Glastonbury Performance

August 26 2008

Rapper JAY-Z has changed the future of music festivals following his controversial performance at the U.K's Glastonbury festival, according to British DJ FATBOY SLIM.

Jay-Z hit the headlines in June (08) after he brought rap music to the traditional rock festival - a move heavily criticised by Oasis star Noel Gallagher.

But Fatboy Slim - real name Norman Cook - has supported the rapper's decision, insisting it is good for the music industry.

He tells WENN, "What Jay-Z did was brave, but it was very clever. He rocked that place so it proves he made the right decision."

And the DJ didn't mind headlining at last weekend's (23-24Aug08) U.K. dance festival Creamfields with rockers Kasabian.

He adds, "I don't have a problem with a rock band performing at an event like this. Everyone likes something a little different, and Jay-Z proved that."
