Killers Star Fears For Future Of Unsigned Bands

THE KILLERS star MARK STOERMER has spoken out about his fears for the future of unsigned bands as music labels are financially struggling to support new acts.

The bassist believes new bands have to be vigilant as the music industry suffers from illegal downloads and a dramatic drop in CD sales.

And the star urges fans not to blame big labels for not supporting new acts - insisting they are trying their best to push forward new talent.

He says, "It's a really hard time for new bands. It's not that there's a lack of good music, it's just that labels are struggling financially.

"Some people say that record labels are bad but people forget they are the ones who break the bands and get them on their way."

But Stoermer is adamant record labels will survive.

He adds, "In the Eighties no-one was really going to see live music. Now it's big business."
