Brad Pitt's Venice Award Mystery Solved

Venice Film Festival organisers had the movie world confused on Wednesday (27Aug08) when they belatedly handed BRAD PITT his Best Actor prize from 2007.

Fans believed Pitt had picked up the award for new Coen Brothers film Burn After Reading - the movie he is promoting at the festival.

But the actor was actually given the gong for his performance The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford - a year late.

Pitt was awarded the honour last year (07), but was unable to accept the prize until this year's (08) ceremony.
