Shia LaBeouf: 'I Had a Traumatic Childhood'
Indiana Jones star Shia LaBeouf has opened up about his tough childhood.
The actor says he grew up in a part of Los Angeles which was rife with gang crime, and witnessed violence first-hand during the race riots in 1992.
"I saw people get stabbed across the street in the park on a daily basis," he said.
Shia also revealed that he didn't get to spend much time with his father because he was a drug dealer and addict.
He adds, "I didn't get a lot of time with my father. I didn't really know him until I started working on my Disney show 'Even Stevens', and that was because I was paying him to be my parent on set."
The pair have never had an intimate or close relationship, leaving LaBeouf, 21, wondering how much his father cared about him.
He added, "There's a scene in a film I did where my character says, 'Did you ever love me?' These were questions I'd asked my father many times."
