Tana Ramsay: 'Victoria Beckham is Lovely'

Gordon Ramsay's wife Tana says pal Victoria Beckham is "lovely" and insists the former Spice Girl is completely different to the public's perception.

Tana -- one of the classiest wives in showbiz -- hangs out with the Beckhams when she and Gordon -- along with their four children -- are in Los Angeles, and says both families get along like a house on fire.

She explains, "To us they're simply good friends. They have kids the same age as ours, so when we meet up they all get on really well.

"They're a very normal, down-to-earth family, honestly. Victoria is lovely. She is very chic and beautiful, but she's a real mum. She's not this other-worldly person people think she is."

Tana also revealed that she wears the house in the Ramsay household -- and Gordon takes the more laid-back approach to parenting.

She adds to Britain's Sunday People newspaper, "I'm the disciplinarian at home and Gordon's the fun one. I don’t mind, but he does tell me I'm bossy. I have to be, though. He's the relaxed one who breaks all the rules, and I have to make them. He's a softie, honest."

And the most romantic thing the fiery chef's ever done for her? "He organized my 30th birthday party, which was a complete surprise," Tana said. "It was amazing. He had to get all the names and addresses of my friends that he wouldn't necessarily know. And he even bought new outfits for the kids to wear too. Everything was thought of. I like to think we make time for romance. We always take a holiday at the start of the year without the kids, and one in summer. It's nice to have couple time."
