Guy Ritchie: 'Being Married to Madonna is Dragging me Down'

Madonna's husband Guy Ritchie says being married to the superstar singer is 'dragging' down his movie-making career.
In a new interview with Total Film magazine, Guy -- who has directed films such as 'Snatch' and 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels' -- seems to blame the Material Girl hitmaker for some of the widespread criticism his recent film flops have been stung with.
The director's comments come as the couple struggle to put their marriage in a positive light under the scrutiny of the world's media.
Referring to his critically-panned film Swept Away, which featured his wife, Ritchie said, "It felt like me walking up a hill on my own, dragging a lot of people with me."
Madonna recently competed with Guy by shooting her own film in London last year, Filth and Wisdom.
Despite his recent dash to New York to put on a show of unity with his wife, Ritchie also hints Madonna will have to work hard to persuade him to abandon his beloved London for her.
Talking about his upcoming film RocknRolla, starring 22-year-old new Bond girl beauty Gemma Arterton, Guy added, "[London has] usurped New York as the capital of the world.
"I hope I've evolved...this one has a certain 'now-ness'. I've tried in a way to make a reflection of contemporary London."
