Tom Cruise's Son Takes Flying Lessons

Tom Cruise's son is clearly planning to follow in his famous father's footsteps -- after taking flying lessons at a Burbank airfield.
From the 'Top Gun' star's airplane hangar in Burbank this past Saturday afternoon Connor Cruise, 13, boarded a small prop airplane for his flying lesson.
According to E! News, Connor, with an instructor, practiced taking off, cruising and landing the Cessna 172 Skyhawk about three times. Connor -- who Cruise adopted during his marriage to Nicole Kidman -- finished his lesson at 7:30 p.m. without incident.
It's said to be legally sound for 13-year-olds to take flying lessons if they are big enough to operate all the controls (reach pedals, etc.) and have passed all required student exams.
However, according to the Federal Aviation Administration's website, he cannot get a license until he is 16.
