Britney Spears "Spending the Summer" Working on New Album

Britney Spears will spend the summer finishing off her new album, according to her manager Larry Rudolph.
A statement released Wednesday by Rudolph and and Jive Records says the Toxic star "is spending her summer in the recording studio, working on a brand new album.
"She's working with a team of top-notch producers and songwriters and we’re very excited about what she’s accomplished so far. No album release date has been confirmed yet," read the statement.
In June, her vocal producer and co-writer Jim Beanz first revealed the singer -- who has had turbulent few months -- was working on new material.
"Britney is amazing," Beanz said.
Though the singer has had her share of drama, "we never see anything but positives out of her," he added. "Everyone has personal stuff, but a true professional doesn't bring it into the studio."
Earlier this year, Rudolph said Britney had gone into the studio "just for fun," adding, "she is on the right path."
Britney's last album, Blackout, debuted at No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard 200. The first single "Gimme More" was her most successful single in the U.S. since "...Baby One More Time."
