Tony Romo Teammate: 'Jessica Simpson "Fan Favorite" Comments Were a Joke'

Tony Romo's Dallas Cowboys teammate Terrell Owens is setting the record straight about remarks he made about the quarterback's girlfriend Jessica Simpson.

Last year, wide receiver Owen said Jessica was not a "fan favorite" in the Texas football world after the Cowboys lost a slew of games that Jessica attended.

Now, the Dallas Cowboy insists his remarks were just a joke.

He told Us Weekly magazine, "She doesn't really know my personality. I think Tony knew I was kidding.

"I don't regret it because I was just having fun. I was just teasing her."

Though he teased the former 'Simple Life' star about not being welcome at the game, Terrell said he has personally invited Jessica back.

"I talked to her about it and gave her a hard time about it," he said. "I told her she is welcome to the stadium anytime. I told her she can come down and sit in my section."

As for his take on the status of teammate Tony's relationship with Jessica — it's a touchdown, according to Terrell.

"I'm sure they are having a great time — they are probably off on vacation right now," he said. "They seem happy."
