Miley Cyrus: 'Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato Need to Make Their Own Way'

Could Selena Gomez or Demi Lovato become the next Miley Cyrus?
Not if Miley has anything to do with it.
Following Cyrus' controversial Vanity Fair cover earlier this year, many were touting Disney singers Selena Gomez or Demi Lovato as two wholesome girls who could take the 15-year-old superstar's place.
But Miley doesn't think anyone can take her crown as the queen of teen.
"I don't think there could be a next Miley," she tells TV show Extra. "I think they should be the next Selena, the next Demi ... [and] make their own way."
The Hannah Montana star says she takes it as a compliment that "people are looking up to what I do."
"Instead of putting negativity to it, I'm taking the opportunity to make it a positive thing," she says.
She adds that being in the public eye "gives me an opportunity to voice those decisions, those things I go through a little more publicly, and hopefully they help people out in their lives."
Cyrus says she is already gearing up to host the coveted Teen Choice Awards in August.
"I've already got my outfits," she enthused. "I want to be very different. Sequins are definitely very fun for me, but I'm getting kind of over doing the 'sequins thing.' Hopefully, I can break some new fashions."
