Madonna and Guy Ritchie are reportedly set to renew their wedding vows in a bid to prove their marriage is back on track.

The couple -- who have recently faced intense media scrutiny over the state of their seven year marriage -- will put all the madness of the past few months behind them with a "Shabbat Nachamu" -- a night of consolation, according to reports.

The Kabbalah ceremony will be witnessed by two rabbis who will fly to the UK from New York, on the weekend of the Material Girl singer's 50th birthday next month.

Several of the couple's closest friends will go back to their Ashcombe estate in Wiltshire to see Madonna -- known to pals as Em -- and film director Guy stand up and reassure everyone their marriage is as strong as ever.

A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "They have a special Shabbat party in August – separate from Madonna’s 50th.

"It's Shabbat Nachamu – which they want to do once a year to declare their feelings for each other.

"It’s a very important dinner for them – they want everyone to know they are still in love. Em and Guy are making speeches in front of the rabbis.

"Knowing Guy, he'll have a laugh with it and they'll make light of the whole thing. But there is a serious message.

"Their kids mean the world to them both and they are determined they will stay together.

"Family members have been suggesting to them they get counseling. Em wanted to do something more biblical and spiritual.

"There are other reasons for the dinner. Guy’s dad John’s health is failing. It's why Guy wants to stay in the UK."

Ritchie, 39, yesterday insisted his marriage to the reigning queen of pop was "fine".

"My marriage is fine as far as I'm aware of," he told People magazine.

Madonna was earlier this month forced to deny claims she was having an affair with baseball star Alex Rodriguez.
