Troubled Amy Winehouse played a drinking game before downing 11 prescription pills prior to her hospitalization Monday, it has been claimed.

According to Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper, the Rehab hitmaker writhed in agony on the floor after the four-hour drinking game spiraled out of control. She collapsed after drinking several shots of rum followed by eleven different prescription pills.

A source told the paper, "Amy was downing the neat spirit as part of a card game and generally having a great time with her mates at her flat.

"But the problems started when she then took her medication - all 11 tablets - and all hell broke loose.

"She clutched her stomach and was in such agony that everyone genuinely feared the worst."

The pal added that Amy, 24, had been drinking since 5pm on Monday before collapsing at 8.40pm. She was rushed from the flat in Camden, North London to University College Hospital, where she spent the night under observation.

Amy was released from the hospital at 9.45am yesterday and ushered out through a private exit. Her father Mitch is believed to have spent the night at her bedside.

Amy's spokesman said yesterday, "She had a bit of a scare because of a reaction to treatment. She was kept in overnight purely for observation. Amy is at home now and is having a rest."

He declined to comment on the singer's drink binge.

However, a source close to the star said, "Amy has been really good at taking her medication but on this occasion, perhaps she had too much rum and it reacted with the tablets she takes."
