John Mayer to be Godfather to Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson's Baby?

Expectant parents Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson are reportedly thinking about asking John Mayer to be a godparent to their baby when it's born.
Fall Out Boy star Pete -- who married Ashlee in a secret ceremony in May this year -- has formed a close friendship with fellow rocker John, 30, and is now considering whether or not Jennifer Aniston's womanizing beau would be a good role model for their baby girl - due in October.
A source says, "Pete and John have been spending a lot of time together lately and they get on so well. They are firm friends. John gets a bad rap and is always portrayed as a bad boy but he's got a heart of gold. Pete and Ashlee know that and they think he would make a great godparent.
"But they are holding back asking him at the moment because they are not sure how Ashlee's sister Jessica would feel about her ex having such a strong link to her new niece."
Meanwhile, Pete has been talking to Ashlee's father Joe and his own dad Pete to make sure he is fully prepared for the arrival of his baby.
He recently said, "I'm reading all the books. The best one I've read so far is 'The Expectant Father'.
"I'm talking to my dad a lot. I'm talking to Ashlee's dad a lot. We hang out with other people who have kids. You see the world in a different way. It's exciting."
