Naomi Campbell's mother has shattered the supermodel's mean girl image -- by revealing: "She saved my life."

Valerie Campbell, 55, said the supermodel -- who recently faced charges over an air-rage attack -- made sure she got the best treatment when she was diagnosed with breast cancer three years ago.

She says, "Naomi went from one doctor to another in America, pulled all her contacts and did not take no for an answer. My daughter saved my life."

Valerie also spoke out about South London-born Naomi's air rage attack.

She said, "I try to abide by rules and regulations. If you break the law then you must pay the penalty. And I think Naomi understands that very well herself."

Naomi, 38, got 200 hours' community service for assaulting a police officer and threatening airline crew when her baggage was lost at Heathrow Airport.
