Rihanna: 'I Will Never Take Drugs'

Rihanna has vowed never to take drugs.

The 'Umbrella' hitmaker says that her father was addicted to crack cocaine when she was growing up -- and saw first-hand the damage drugs cause as she was left to help raise her 2 younger brothers.

She explains, "I was always mature for my years because of the parental part of it."

And Rihanna -- who is widely reported to be dating fellow singer Chris Brown -- says her determination to stay off drugs means she'll never be tempted to go off the rails.

She added to British newspaper The Guardian, "I've seen up close what effect those things can have. I would never want to put myself in that situation.

"It would be very careless and just not smart at all."
