Keira Knightley: 'I Always Talk About Sex With My Mother'

Keira Knightley has no qualms about discussing sex - with her mom.

The 'Edge of Love' actress, 23, described her Scottish playwright mother Sharman Macdonald, 57, as a "chilled-out hippy".

"Mum and I would always talk about sex," Keira says. "She'd come up to my room, have me roll her cigarettes and then tell me I had to have one with her.

"It's not the typical mother-daughter thing but we're extremely close."

Keira -- named Hollywood's No.2 female earner last year after taking home around $32m -- also revealed that she and brother Caleb, 29, were raised in an informal home.

She added, "Mum's a bit mental in a good way. She's this chilled-out hippy mother.

"My house was always the one where my brother and his mates would be drinking when they shouldn't be."
