Tom Cruise "Considered Giving up Acting"
Tom Cruise's falling popularity in Hollywood is knocking the star's confidence so much that he considered giving up acting for good, according to reports.
"He can no longer command top fees for his movies as his name isn't a guarantee of box-office success anymore and that's hit his confidence hard," a source said. "So much so that he even considered giving up acting at one point."
Cruise's career crisis is also said to be causing tensions in his marriage to Katie Holmes, with the former Dawson's Creek actress struggling to take the lead in the relationship.
Holmes also fueled speculation that cracks were starting to appear in the marriage after she failed to attend the Scientology Celebrity Centre's 39th Anniversary Gala in Los Angeles on August 9.
However, two days later, Katie, 29, flew from New York to be at the Top Gun star's side in LA for the premiere of his latest movie Tropic Thunder, in which he only has a bit part.
A source tells Britain's Now magazine, "Tom was clinging to Katie, which is no surprise – she's been his rock these past few months.
"At the premiere, they seemed mismatched. Katie looked every inch the glamorous starlet, while Tom looked needy, diminished and much older.
"It remains to be seen whether their marriage can weather this storm."

He really should consider giving up acting, not like anyone will miss him anyway, I used to like him alot but then he started with this cult stuff, Scientology, it makes me wonder if he is even good in his head anymore??? Katie should have never married him eighter, they are so unmatched, it is almost ridiculous and Suri,is a very ugly name too for such a beautiful child, at least she has her mother's beauty. Shame he is taking Katie and his child down with him.

I love Tom Cruise movies like Jerry Maguire, The Last Samurai, Minority Report, The Firm and many others. I still enjoy watchng them and I would love to watch new movies by Tom Cruise. The message above says "I used to like him a lot but then he started with... Scientology..." Well, I want to tell this person and other bigots like him/her that Tom Cruise was already a Scientologist back then when he/she "used to like him a lot" - he became a Scientologist in the 80's. They liked him when they didn't know he was a Scientologist. Now that they know they don't. If that is not bigotry you tell me what it is...

Yep Cruise is a talentless egosentric 'actor' he never had much acting talent. much less any range, he only had looks some apparently found appealing, his personality is unpleasant control freak nutter.. will his acting or power trip in hollywood be missed, not for a second... look at the character references; as soon as his popularity dips a little, the studios drop him as if they couldnt wait to get rid of him.. doesnt happen to the Hollywood nice guys..even if some arent any less mediocre as actors, like Clooney, or had little box office clout for years, but the acting talent like Depp .. guess how you treat the little guy matters.. and by the little guy I am not referring to Cruise LOL
