Katie Holmes' Broadway Debut Set For Failure?

Katie Holmes' Broadway debut in Arthur Miller's All My Sons looks set to fail -- after it was revealed ticket sales for the show are thus far "definitely off from what the production hoped."
The actress wife of Tom Cruise takes to the New York stage in October this year -- but it looks like her name is failing to put bums on seats.
A source tells MSNBC's Courtney Hazlett, "You can't say it's the economy. Because there are shows, like Mamma Mia that are selling out.
"It's not that Katie's bad in the part. She's good enough. The producers are just getting the feeling people still want to view Katie as sweet little [former Dawson's Creek character] Joey Potter."
The poster for All My Sons, which was unveiled Thursday, revealed that Holmes is at the bottom of the bill. Her co-stars John Lithgow, Dianne Wiest and Patrick Wilson are all credited before the 29-year-old Batman Begins actress.
However, despite reports of poor ticket sales, a publicist for All My Sons insists, "That information is totally false. There is a healthy advance for the show, and there is no chance of the run being shortened."
Sons opens Oct. 16 and runs through Jan. 11.
