Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson Expecting Twins?

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz will be welcoming twins, according to reports.

The couple married in a secret ceremony on May 17, 2008; and announced shortly after, on Fall Out Boy's official website, that they were expecting their first child together.

"While many have speculated about this, we wanted to wait until after the first trimester to officially confirm that we are expecting our first child," they said. "This is truly the most joyous time in our lives and we are excited to share the happy news and start our family."

According to E! Online's Marc Malkin, citing Pete's buddy, hip-hop artist Tyga, the couple are "expecting not one, but two bundles of joy."

Says Tyga, "They're having twins. They're really happy."

In June, Pete referred to his and Ashlee's unborn baby as "them" during an Arizona radio interview. He quickly denied they were having twins, explaining to blogger Perez Hilton that he was just trying to be vague about the pregnancy.

Reps for the Pete and Ashlee did not immediately comment.
