Eva Longoria Loves Playing a Slummy Mummy

Eva Longoria loves playing a slummy mummy in Desperate Housewives -- because she does not have to worry about what she looks like.

Eva, 33, is thanking writers for turning her character Gabrielle Solis into a dowdy mom-of-two -- because it means she can spend less time primping and preening.

She says, "I love the fact that I play a slummy mummy. It means I no longer have to be in hair and make up for hours on end.

"It is a real luxury. I do have to wear a fat suit which is uncomfortable when it gets hot though."

Eva -- who is married to San Antonio Spurs star Tony Parker -- recently insisted she didn't want to lose weight, despite her less-than svelte figure fueling a flurry of pregnancy of rumors.

She said, "I have a personal trainer who comes to my house and works me out. It is not my favourite time of day but I have to do it.

I work out because it makes me feel more energized throughout the day - not for the superficial reasons.

"I'm not obsessed with my weight. It is not at the forefront of my mind. I'm a real foodie and I love being that way."
