Elton John Laughs Off Lily Allen Fallout

Elton John insists his on-stage fallout with Lily Allen at this year's GQ Men Of The Year Awards was "nonsense".

The music legend, 61, had a showdown with the Smile hitmaker at the prestigious event in London -- which the pair co-hosted -- last month when Lily told him to "f**k off" on stage.

Although Elton previously said the incident changed his opinion of the 23-year-old, he now insists he has made up with the star.

He writes on the GQ magazine blog, "That was just such nonsense. We had such a great time. She told me to f**k off, because I'm forty years older than she is. I love her.

"She was feeling no pain, I was feeling no pain. I was sober, she wasn't, but it doesn't matter.

"I think they're being very unfair to her. We certainly didn't have a fallout onstage on all (sic).

"You have to put these people in their place sometimes."

Several days after the September awards show, Lily wrote on her MySpace blog that "Elton John and I are friends," adding, "I'm not defending my drunkenness because I don't need to.

"I'm 23, it was an awards ceremony, I drank the free champagne. How awful of me.

"Elton and I exchanged jokes and there were no hard feelings at all, in fact neither of us gave it a second thought.

"It's sad that an evening enjoyed by all had to ruined by some bitter journos again."
