Sandra Bullock Kept Turning Down Blind Side Role

Sandra BullockSANDRA Bullock almost didn’t make her new movie The Blind Side – because she kept turning down the role!

The Hollywood superstar — who plays a wealthy woman who takes in a homeless teenager who goes on to play college football in the movie, based on on a novel by Michael Lewis — admits she was worried about “messing up” the part.

“I don’t even remember saying yes to the movie,” Sandra revealed. “I kept turning it down.

“Not because I didn’t like it, but because I didn’t know how to do it. I didn’t know how to make it the story that it deserves to be. I couldn’t bring to the role what it needed.

“These are the kinds of roles that actresses can mess up, and that’s one of the reasons I didn’t want to step into it! I didn’t know how to make it as good as the story.”

“I’m glad I did it. It’s still a scary thought for me. I don’t know how I did it, but I had a lot of time to prepare for it.”

Sandra, 45, recently revealed that she had to force herself to go down the gym in order to prepare for her naked scenes in her recent hit flick The Proposal.

“Sadly, my first and last nude scene got laughs,” Bullock said. “I had to be very secure with that.

“When I read it on the page, I realized, ‘Okay, there’s no way to shoot this unless you’re buck naked’, so I decided to go to the gym and cut out the carbs.

“If it turned out funny, though, it was worth it. But shooting it was odd. There are things stuck to you where you generally don’t have things stuck.

“Then you’d get unstuck and oddly, not care because you’re so tired. [Director] Anne Fletcher was like, ‘Your vagina is hanging out. Cover it up’, and I go, ‘Sorry, sorry’.”

Rachel McAdams Begged Guy Ritchie For Sherlock Holmes Role

Rachel McAdamsRACHEL McAdams was so desperate to be in new movie Sherlock Holmes, she had to beg director Guy Ritchie for her part.

The actress — who plays Irene Adler alongside Robert Downey, Jr. and Jude Law in the hotly-anticipated flick — joked that she sat outside Ritchie’s house until he agreed to cast her.

“I hunted Guy down and camped on his doorstep until he relented!” McAdams told Total Film magazine. “OK, no, we had a chat in a garden and it went from there… Fortunately, it worked out for me.”

Rachel, 31, recently revealed that she didn’t enjoy having to squeeze into a corest while making the movie.

“I’m such a girly-girl so I was in heaven just dressed, being dressed from the head down and the costumes were incredible, I mean real-life corsets with the bones and totally cinched in and I would try to push my belly out in the morning when they were coming to strap me in,” she said.

“It really was like out of Gone With the Wind and I’m holding on to the trailer door and trying to seek out just a little bit of space so I can speak properly.

“But they managed to squeeze me in every day — they tried to make me laugh and on the laugh they’d yank, but it was so much fun.”

Zac Efron ‘Trying Something Fresh With New Film’

Zac EfronZAC Efron says he accepted his role in new film Me and Orson Wells because he wanted to try something “fresh”.

The actor — who shot to fame playing clean-cut Troy Bolton in Disney’s popular High School Musical movie franchise — admits he was looking for something a bit “riskier” when took the part.

“I was looking for that opportunity, something fresh,” Zac said, insisting he wasn’t concerned his large, mostly teen fan base, wouldn’t have heard of Orson Welles.

“Perhaps the fans that don’t know about Orson maybe have more of an opinion now when they study this stuff at school… some insight into the early life of this American icon,” he said.

Zac also revealed how is fans managed to track him down while he was filming on the Isle of Man — a small island located in the Irish Sea between Britain and Ireland.

“I was looking forward to that seclusion,” he said. “From what I heard it was a pretty quiet place and there weren’t a lot of people there. But they found it. But I felt pretty welcome.”

Christian Bale’s Batman ‘Hangs in The Balance’

alo-07012321CHRISTIAN Bale will only make another Batman movie if his pal Chris Nolan directs it, it has been claimed.

According to reports, the British actor is poised to make a third Batman movie — but has told film bosses that without Nolan — who directed 2008’s Dark Knight – he won’t be putting on his cape and cowl again.

“A new Batman movie is set to go into production in 2010 but Chris is not on board yet,” reveals a Hollywood insider.

“Christian is due to return as the lead but he has made a point of saying without Chris they have no movie.

“Christian sees him as vital in projecting Batman in a way that’s something more than your average comic book movie. Christian may not even be Batman without Chris.”

Will Ferrell — Most Overpaid Star!

Will FerrellWILL Ferrell has been named Hollywood’s Most Overpaid Star.

The Elf actor and comedian topped the annual list by Forbes magazine, which calculated how much moviemakers earn per dollar paid to their lead actor.

After the last couple of funnyman Will’s films — Semi-Pro and Land of the Lost — bombed at the box office, his rate of return has dropped to $3.29 for every dollar of Will’s fee.

This contrasts greatly with the other end of the scale, which saw Shia LaBeouf named as the Best Actor for the Buck in August, earning studios an average of $160 for every dollar he was paid.

Behind Will on the Most Overpaid list was British actor Ewan McGregor, while Tom Cruise, Leonardo DiCaprio and Samuel L. Jackson all made the top ten.

However, Will could turn his box office figures around as he recently revealed he wants to make a sequel to Anchorman, one of his most successful films to date, about a 1970s newsreader.

“Yeah we’re trying to figure out when and how we should do that,” Will has said. “We’re going to meet with all the guys and see if we can actually pull this off.

“With Steve Carrell and Paul Rudd, they’re in different places with their careers it’s a lot harder to get us all together.

“And believe me, I’m not taking a pay cut, no way, absolutely not!” (more…)

Winnie Mandela Biopic: Jennifer Hudson to Play Lead Role

Jennifer HudsonJENNIFER Hudson has signed up for her most controversial movie role to date — she’s set to play Winnie Mandela in Winnie, a biopic about former South African president Nelson Mandela’s powerful but disgraced ex-wife.

The former American Idol contestant — who won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the 2006 flick Dreamgirls — will start filming May 30.

“I was compelled and moved when I read the script,” Hudson told trade rag Variety. “Winnie Mandela is a complex and extraordinary woman, and I’m honored to be the actress asked to portray her. This is a powerful part of history that should be told.”

Winnie — who took the lead against apartheid while her husband languished in prison — was a controversial figure who was arrested and convicted in 1991 in connection with the murder of a 14-year-old government informant. In 2003, she was found guilty of fraud and theft of money from a funeral fund.

Johnny Depp ‘To Earn $30m For Next Pirates Movie’

Johnny DeppJOHNNY Depp will earn at least $30million to star in the next Pirates of the Caribbean movie.

According to British newspaper The Sun, Depp’s fee is a guaranteed minimum for the film, On Stranger Tides, but could soar even higher if it is a huge box-office hit — making the hunk Hollywood’s current highest-paid actor when he returns as Captain Jack Sparrow for the fourth film in the series.

It places Depp ahead of Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks and Mel Gibson, who command around $26million a movie.

Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom won’t be starring in On Stranger Tides.

Geoffrey Rush will again play Captain Barbossa and Penelope Cruz may be the female lead.

“The movie will feature flashbacks to Jack’s early life,” a source said.

Tom Cruise ‘Wants Katie Holmes to Star in Fourth Mission: Impossible Movie’

Tom Cruise and Katie HolmesTOM Cruise is planning to make another Mission: Impossible movie — and he wants his wife, Katie Holmes, to play a baddie!

The Top Gun star is gearing up to revitalize the TV-based franchise with a fourth explosive movie, with his sexy spouse providing some of the opposition for his special agent character Ethan Hunt.

“Tom is very excited about taking Mission: Impossible in a new direction and he sees Katie as a big part of that,” said one loose-lipped Hollywood insider.

“They have wanted to work together for a while now but the idea of being a couple on screen in a romantic comedy or something is a bit dull. This might give them a chance to have some fun both as a couple and as hero and villainess.”

Recent reports claimed that Cruise and Holmes — who are parents to adorable daughter Suri, 3 — are at an “all time low” in their relationship and are fighting to save their marriage.

“It’s their third wedding anniversary on 18 November and they’re at an all-time low,” dished an insider.

“The main conflict is between Katie’s career and Tom’s desperation for another child. The sad reality is that they’re not on the same page and want completely different things out of life.

‘Katie’s sick of Tom’s broken promises and wants to walk away for good if the situation doesn’t improve.”
