Chrissy Teigen is becoming well known for voicing her views on select matters. She’s chimed in on all kinds of topics like Instagram’s nudity policies and Floyd Mayweather’s tiger. Now, Teigen is speaking out about another important matter, Instagram body shamers.
Responding to criticism of photos appearing in a 2016 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, the 30-year-old cover model, put every person commenting on how she doesn’t look that good anymore in their place.
The original pic that Teigen posted, garnered 120,000 likes and the envy of people who have negativity to spread about a body millions would kill for. Please note: both of the photos could be considered NSFW.
The caption reads: “So excited to announce my 7th appearance in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition – I had to count that a million times before I believed it! My @si_swimsuit family, I love you! There is nothing like being a part of this brand and this issue. My shoot was in beautiful Zanzibar and shot by the incomparable @ruvenafanador, who is just as wonderful, kind, serene and lovely as everyone has ever told me. He thinks about every little aspect of a photo, every detail. HMU by @peterbutlerhairand @joannegair I LOVE you and am so lucky you allow me to be in your chairs! @mj_day and@darciebaum and @ja_neyney @hillarydrezner and @karencarpk – you are my family. And to all my fellow @si_swimsuit girls, congrats on a beautiful issue!!! I will see you this week in MIAMI!!!! I can’t wait to kiss all your beautiful faces!”
And here’s the message she posted in response to seeing what others had to comment on her photo:
Teigen says in this caption: “The @si_swimsuit edition is on stands tooooo-day! (Shoutout to everyone dissecting every little part of my bod in the last comment thread, you’re all really wonderful, kind, flawless beauties – I can tell from your pages!!”
Seriously. She’s Chrissy freakin Teigen. She’s appeared in the Sport’s Illustrated Swimsuit issue every year since 2010. In addition to Sports Illustrated, she’s appeared on the cover of Ocean Drive magazine, Cosmopolitan, and has been featured in editorials for the likes of Italian Vogue, Esquire, Glamour, Galore and Cosmopolitan. She’s also married to music mogul, John Legend and, wittingly, intelligent enough to know that IG trolls don’t pay the bills! But a valiant effort by “do nothings” nonetheless.
Our words of advice for Chrissy: “Keep doin you, sweet thang!”
