Shortly after Prince announced to the audience in New York on Friday night that he will be writing a memoir about his life our spies at the concert reached out for more details from Prince himself.
Prince said to our spy: “Like I said this will be an exclusive look into my life from as early as I can remember to the Superbowl performance or more. I will go through all my childhood, teen years, breaking into the music scene, struggles and triumphs that I can remember.” ShowbizSpy asked about the management behind the deal put together by Random House through Spiegel & Grau. “I am pleased to be working with so much talent in the industry and I have all the confidence in the world that these guys will do the right thing.” ShowbizSpy then asked about what part his brother Dan Piepenbring who is a web editor for The Paris Review will have specifically. Prince says: “Dan will be a big part of the entire process from begining to the end as he is familiar with the process and I can trust his advice 100%.” We then asked for a time frame on the book to hit the shelves and he replied: “I think we are shooting for sometime in 2017.”
BBC also reported that Chris Jackson who is Spiegel & Grau’s executive editor said: “We’re thrilled to be publishing Prince’s powerful reflections on his own life in his own incandescently vivid, witty and poetic voice.”
We can not wait to read about Prince’s life and can say with confidence that this could very well be one of the greatest memoirs ever in the music industry.
We tried to find the song that Prince is naming his memoir after, however as we all know he is very well known to block any of his music from being streamed so that’s a bummer. But if you use Spotify or Pandora you can listen to the track “The Beautiful Ones” there.
